On Tuesday, May 21, we “unite” the past with the future.
A magnificent sea, the Ionian Sea, connects the peoples of the Ionian Islands with each other and with a great history, a moment of which we celebrate on May 21st. The storehouse of this historic day it can not be stagnant, especially when all the local communities, nature, the sea and the future are threatened by the devastating consequences of hydrocarbon mining. On the contrary, memories like the one of May 21 require us to rescue our historical and not just continuity.
The Open Assembly of Kefalonia-Ithaca honors this day and our radical historical tradition and invites all members, friends and friends, but and all those who struggle for the mining future of our islands and the Ionian Sea as a whole, to celebrate May 21 with our collective peaceful presence on Tuesday at 11:00 am in front of the Anti-Region (former Prefecture), giving our own modern sense to celebration the follow-up will follow symbolic action at the Fanari and from there we will send our own message that the Ionian will remain free and eternally uniting us with the past, the present and the future.
