A powerful 6.4 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale struck Albania in the early morning. The earthquake was felt in many areas of northern Greece.
From the first images from Albanian television networks, the earthquake has caused material damage. According to Efthimios Lekkas in a first reports in Corfu, mainly in the vicinity, no damage has been caused to the Greek territory.
The quake centered 10 kilometers north of the city of Dures, which is about 30 kilometers west of Tirana. The quake struck at 4:54 am and had a focal depth of 10 km.
An hour ago, at 3:47 am, there was a first strong earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale, which upset the residents and several took to the streets.
Finally, just before 5 in the morning, there was a greater seismic vibration, measured by 6.4 from the European-Mediterranean Institute (other sources report it to be 6.6 Richter).
