Monthly activity of the police services of the Ionian Islands

A total of (450) people were arrested and (138) cases related to attempted robbery, theft and burglary, trafficking and possession of narcotics, and other offenses

In the context of the constant informing of the citizens about the results of the police response, of the services of the General Regional Police Directorate of the Ionian Islands, for the period of June 2019, data on all arrests and scouts in Corfu, Zakynthos, Kefalonia and Lefkada, as well as the most important cases involving the police.

Analytically:

1. A total of 450 people were arrested, including 87 in Kefalonia, 189 in Corfu, 120 in Zakynthos and 54 in Lefkada.

These arrests stand out (2) for attempted robbery, (44) still for trafficking and possession of drugs, and (91) arrests for violations of foreign law.

2. A total of 138 cases were identified from which:

  •  (1) an attempted robbery
  •  (15) assumptions about thefts and burglaries
  •  (39) cases of drug trafficking and possession;
  •  (83) for other offenses

3 . During the investigation of the cases occupied by the Police Services, several items were seized, of which they are distinguished:

Raw Cannabis 985.14 grams
Drug pills 159
Cannabis seedlings 113
Amount of money 1,100 euros

Indicatively, the assumptions made during the period under review stand out:

  •  The investigation, on 01-06-2019 , of eight (8) cases of thefts and burglaries, from houses and shops in Kefalonia
  •  The arrests of two (2) nationals, on 11-06-2019 , for attempted robbery and thefts in Corfu
  •  The capture of a national, on 12-06-2019 , for cannabis cultivation in Corfu
  •  The scrambling on 18-06-2019 and 22-06-2019 , cases of distinguished thefts in Lefkada
  •  The arrests (17) of aliens at the airport of Zakynthos, on 05-06-2019 , 20-06-2019 and 25-06-2019 , attempted to travel illegally to European countries.
