Background information regarding the production and actors of the American film that is being shot in Kefalonia (pictues)

At present the cast of an American-produced film is on our island for the filming that will take place in our towns and countryside.

The Deputy Regional Governor of Kefalonia & Ithaca Stavros P. Travlos held a meeting yesterday Thursday 22/9 at the offices of the Region, with the producer Dimitris Tsilifonis and the location manager Yiannis Firigos, who analyzed the content of the film and informed him of the locations where they are being made the filming.

In a climate of mutual willingness to cooperate, there was a discussion about new productions that could be shot on the islands of Kefalonia and Ithaca

The current Regional Authority, with the creation of the “film office” for the Ionian Islands and the general assistance it provides to shoot any film or documentary that takes place on our islands sees with great satisfaction the very important productions that have been carried out and are being carried out, the which contribute the most to the promotion of our islands and clearly justify our concerted efforts.

The actors of the film thanked the Vice-Regional Governor for his interest and the help that the Region provides in whatever is requested, assuring him at the same time that the interest in future productions in Kefalonia is increasing.

After thanking them for the extensive information they provided him and the interest they show for our island, the Deputy Governor gave them a brief presentation of proposals regarding extremely interesting potential future productions with local interest issues.


Filming is taking place in Paliya Vlahata, Drogarati and the wider area of the Municipality of Sami these days.

This is an American film that has the meeting of two archaeologists on our island as a central theme.
