The fines
Late payment of traffic fees, as well as non-payment, incurs a fine equal to 100% of the fees attributable to the vehicle. More specifically, the amount of the fine is:

  • Equal to the amount of fees if the vehicle is a two-wheeler/tricycle or a passenger car.
  • Equal to 50% of the fees if the vehicle is passenger D.X.
  • Zero if the road tax is less than 30 euros.

Even more “bitter” are the fines for the “sly” who will move their vehicle , while they have digitally immobilized it.

In the AADE’s instructions on traffic fees, it is pointed out that “a vehicle for which immobility has been declared, if it is detected in the context of the checks carried out by the legally competent bodies and by the services of the AADE, either in circulation or bearing registration plates, the immobility is automatically lifted and imposed by the AADE, in addition to the traffic fees and the fine for non-payment of those provided for by the written provisions, and an administrative fine equal to ten thousand (10,000) euros” .

In case of recurrence, the above fine is tripled, i.e. an administrative fine equal to thirty thousand (30,000) euros is imposed , and, by decision of the legally competent body, the driver’s license of the owner or possessor of the vehicle is withdrawn for three years . A vehicle that is found parked in a different place than the one declared in the electronic immobility or passing through, is considered to have been released.

Traffic fees 2023: Three ways to pay
Traffic fees can be paid in three ways:

A) Through the automatic transaction machines located in the banks. In this case, you will be asked for the QR Code, i.e. the icon located at the top right of the notification panel.
B) Through Web Banking if you have access to the application available from your bank. In this case you will be asked for the RF code. It is the 23-digit number located in the center of the notification panel immediately after the letters “RF”.
C) Finally, at the nearest bank or at an ELTA branch, having printed the notice in advance.
Traffic charges: How we print them with Taxisnet codes and without
Let’s look below at the two ways you can print your 2023 road tax notices, as well as the three options available to owners for paying them .

A. PRINTING NOTICES USING TAXISNET CODES

For brevity, you should have the Taxisnet codes, your personal VAT number and the vehicle’s registration number handy.
Then you enter the MyCar application of AADE.
Immediately after that, press the “LOG IN TO THE APPLICATION” option.
At this point enter the Taxisnet codes and then press CONNECT.
Then click on “Vehicle Traffic Fees”.
Immediately after, select “Vehicle Toll Notifications”.
At this point you confirm that the VAT number and year (2023) displayed are correct and then enter the vehicle registration number.
Then you click on the “Traffic Charges Notice” in order to save the file on your mobile phone or on a computer, where you can then print it.

B. PRINTING NOTICES WITHOUT USING TAXINET CODES

The information you will be asked for in this case is your personal VAT number and the vehicle registration number.
Once you have the above information available, enter the AADE website. For brevity go directly by clicking here .
Then you press the “LOG IN TO THE APPLICATION” button.
In the new window that will appear, you must fill in your VAT number, the vehicle’s registration number and then select the year you want. In this case 2022.
Then you press the “PRINT” button and the notification appears in a new window in order to save it on your mobile or on a computer where you can then print it.

Digital car off road
With the myCar application you can register your vehicle’s license plates online, avoiding any time-consuming process that was applicable until now.

The steps to follow:

-Log in to the Single Digital Portal of the AADE Public Administration -Enter the myCar
application -Enter the Taxisnet codes -Enter : a) the postal code of the area, b) the street, c) the number -Declare the parking space (rented or registered) -Submit the application -Get the application number -Remove the plates from the vehicle and keep them in a safe place -The vehicle is now in immobility

Traffic fees by month: What applies
For example, those who want to immobilize their vehicle should follow the following steps :

With the TAXISnet codes, you enter the platform, select the vehicle that is digitally stationary
You pay the current year’s road tax, an online check is made to see if the vehicle is insured on the date and time of completing the relevant application
Then the request is submitted.
It is reminded that the payment of annual traffic fees is required for:

the transfer of the vehicle,
its definitive deletion from the vehicle register
its export from Greece, as well as for
the reclassification of the vehicle in Greece
If someone wants to remove digital immobility for certain months in the year and pay proportional traffic fees (with the month) they should do the following steps:

With the TAXISnet codes, you enter the platform, select the vehicle that is digitally stationary
You choose to pay monthly traffic fees, depending on the months you wish to drive your vehicle digitally
You pay the current year’s road tax, an online check is made to see if the vehicle is insured on the date and time of completing the relevant application
Then the request is submitted.
ATTENTION : The right to remove immobility (digital or voluntary in D.O.Y.) is granted only once within the year. When the period of movement for which they have been proportionally paid t.c. the vehicle must be brought to a digital standstill immediately.
