Weather: Emergency notice of deterioration from the EMY

The EMY issued an emergency bulletin for the deterioration of the weather , since the bad weather “hits” Greece from Thursday evening (19.01.2023)

According to the emergency weather report, successive waves of bad weather will affect our country in the coming days.

More specifically, the weather is predicted to worsen from this evening until Monday (23.01.2023) with heavy rains and storms in the west, north and east of the island country which will be accompanied at times by a high frequency of lightning, hail and by strengthened winds on the seas.

According to EMY, heavy rains and storms are predicted:

a) from the evening hours today Thursday (19.01.2023) in the northern Ionian, Epirus, western Sterea and western Peloponnese and until noon on Friday (20.01.2023). The phenomena will temporarily weaken and from the evening of Friday to Saturday they are predicted to strengthen again from the west.

b) from the morning to the evening hours of Friday in central and eastern Macedonia and Thrace.

c) from the pre-noon hours on Fridays and until the evening in the islands of the eastern Aegean and the Dodecanese and possibly temporarily in the Cyclades and Crete.

Snowfall will occur in the mountains of Epirus, western Sterea and western Macedonia (indicative altitude 1000-1200 meters).

From Saturday to Monday 

1) Heavy rains and storms are predicted:

a) from the early morning hours of Saturday until the evening in the northern Ionian, Epirus, western Sterea and western Peloponnese and again from Sunday evening until noon on Monday.

b) from midday on Saturday to midday on Sunday in central and eastern Macedonia, Thrace, the islands of the eastern Aegean and again from midday on Monday until evening.

Snowfall will occur in the highlands of Epirus, western Sterea and western Macedonia (indicative altitude 800 meters) during Saturday.
