August Full Moon: “Enchanted” the full moon – Impressive images across Greece

The full moon of August was magical once again… Words are poor to describe the beautiful moon that illuminated the sky with all magnificence on Sunday night (22.08.2021).

It is noted that the full moon of August is also called “Sturgeon Moon”, having received the specific name from the natives of America, since on this day they fished this fish, also known as cod. It takes 29 days, 12 hours, 44 minutes and 2.86 seconds to complete all phases of the Moon. This time is called the synod month and is the time period between two consecutive full moons or two consecutive phases of the New Moon, from which the calendar month was born.

Unique, imposing, impressive from Athens, Thessaloniki, Trikala was again the full moon of August… When the full moon appeared, it offered unique images with its glow!

The archeological sites that opened especially for the occasion had their honor and welcomed the public who hurried to enjoy the full moon! A total of 120 archeological sites and museums across the country remained open, and many events took place.

Amazing moon. Thank you for sharing. The best full moon I have seen is in Kefalonia.
