As of Monday, September 21, the ministry has already sent 300 engineers to conduct inspections and assess the damage to the affected municipal buildings, while, as announced by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Costas Karamanlis, it will be given immediately in the form of a one-time emergency allowance. financial support 5,000 euros to the owners or tenants of the affected buildings and 8,000 euros per business by filling out an online form on the website gov.gr.

In addition, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport will operate a call center with 10 lines from today, Wednesday, September 23, to inform and serve the victims, while an emergency project has been launched, with a budget of 350,000,000 euros, for flood protection of areas near the area. , implemented with concession contracts.

Also, OSE launched one line from Lianokladi to Larissa late last night. From today, September 23, TRAINOSE operates the Athens-Thessaloniki routes again without an intermediate interruption.

Finally, those affected in Kefalonia, Ithaca, Zakynthos, Lefkada, Karditsa, Magnesia, Fthiotida, Corinth and Farsala are exempted from the obligation to pay fees in cases of replacement of driving licenses that were lost or destroyed in recent floods.

Detailed six measures of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport in the areas affected by “Ianos”
A. Inspection of buildings and recording of damages
As of Monday, September 21, the Ministry of Infrastructure has already sent teams of 300 engineers to conduct autopsies and assess the damage to the affected Municipal buildings that are in a state of emergency due to Janos.

By the end of yesterday (September 22, 2020), inspections had been carried out on a total of 1,097 buildings, of which 59 were found without damage.

B. Immediate financial assistance to the victims, with only one application 
As announced by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Costas Karamanlis, will be given immediately in the form of a one-time emergency financial assistance of 5,000 euros to the owners or tenants of the affected buildings and 8,000 euros. pay severe fines.

Also, as part of the state housing assistance to those affected by natural disasters, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport will provide free state aid equal to 60% of the estimated damage to the building, for repair work on homes and businesses.

Immediately, 1 million euros will also be allocated to each Municipality that has been affected, for the restoration of the road network.

C. Call Center for Information and Service of the Victims 
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport will have a call center from today, Wednesday, September 23, with ten lines, for the information and service of the victims. 

Citizens will be able to call 210-6509300 from 8:00 to 21:00.

D. Flood Protection and Protection Projects amounting to 39 million euros in Thessaly and 40 million euros in Fthiotida
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has launched a program of urgent projects, with a budget of 350 million euros, for the flood protection of the areas near the highways, which were implemented with concession contracts.

Within the framework of this program, the concessionaire of the Central Greece E65 motorway (ie the Central Road) will start in the next period projects amounting to 39 million euros in the area of ​​Karditsa and Trikala. 

These projects specifically concern:
In the arrangement of the river Kalentzis in a length of 16 km and of the Collector III.2 (southwest of the city of Karditsa), with a total budget of about 16 million euros.
In the settlement of the Italian river (20 km long) and the two ditches (six and two km long), which contribute to it, until its contribution with Pinios, with a budget of approximately 5.6 million euros.
In flood protection works on the river Pamisos, budget 17 million euros. In particular, it is about works in the last seven km until its estuary at Pinios, starting from Mouzaki.
Also, in the area of ​​Fthiotida, interventions will be carried out in the Sperchio river, amounting to 18 million euros. In addition, in the area of ​​Sperchio, flood protection works will be carried out by ERGOSE, amounting to 21 million euros, in the sections of the highway with the new railway line.

E. From today the normal train routes Athens-Thessaloniki
OSE launched one line from Lianokladi to Larissa late last night.

From today, September 23, TRAINOSE runs the Athens – Thessaloniki routes again without an intermediate interruption.

In Paleofarsalo, the second line will be restored by OSE crews until Sunday, September 27. Until then, the route on one line will be from Lianokladi to Agios Stefanos station (Domokos).

Regarding the second line in the Othrios tunnel, the plan made by OSE, ERGOSE and consortium is to complete the restoration works in the next 15 days.

F. Replacement of driving license forms and deletion from the Register of vehicles destroyed by “Ianos”
Those affected in Kefallinia, Ithaca, Zakynthos, Lefkada, Karditsa, Magnesia, Fthiotida, Corinth and Farsala, are exempted from the obligation to pay fees in cases of replacement of driving licenses that were lost or destroyed in recent floods.

Also, the final deletion from the Register of private cars that were destroyed by “Ianos” is allowed, without the obligation to present them to a recycling company.

In particular, with a circular of the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Mr. Giannis Kefalogiannis, the victims will be able to replace the driving licenses that were lost or destroyed on September 18 and 19, without the payment of fees.

In particular, the catastrophic floods caused by the Mediterranean cyclone “Ianos” resulted in the destruction / loss of citizen driving licenses in the following regional units:

  • Zakynthos, Ithaca, Kefallinia and Lefkada of the Ionian Islands Region
  • Corinth of the Peloponnese Region
  • Karditsa and Magnesia and in the Municipality of Farsala of P.E. Larissa, Region of Thessaly
  • Fthiotida of the Region of Central Greece

For the replacement of the damaged or lost driving license forms, the supporting documents referred to in par. 2 of article 9 “Issuance of a copy of a driving license of a Greek or an EU member state” will be submitted. of u.a. 50984/7947/2013 (BD ​​3056), except those relating to fees.

For exemption from payment of administration fees subject to the submission to the relevant Transport and Communications Department, in addition, a declaration of loss or destruction of the form of driving license to the police station, which is required to be submitted to the Police Department no later than the 31st to October 2020.

Requests for replacement of damaged or lost forms of driving licenses may be submitted up until 31 the December 2020.

Another circular signed by Mr. Kefalogiannis, stipulates that the vehicles for private use (IX), regardless of displacement, that were destroyed on the specific days in the specific regions, can be deleted from the Register of Vehicle Licenses within a period of three months from today. of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, without the presentation of a Certificate of destruction of the vehicle from an alternative management system of p.d. 116/2004 (A ’81) and without the payment of any cancellation fee.

The relevant application, which states the reason for which the final deletion of the vehicle is requested, is submitted by the owner of the vehicle or a first degree relative to any Transport and Communications Service of the Regional Units, accompanied by the supporting documents specified in the circular.
