British ambassador: Greece will soon be included in the green list of Great Britain

The assessment that Greece will soon be included in the “green” list of Great Britain was expressed by the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Greece, Kate Smith.

Speaking at the “Tourism and Security” teleconference, organized today by the Ministry of Civil Protection and the headquarters of the Hellenic Police, with the support of the British Embassy in our country, Smith referred to the good cooperation that exists between the two countries. , which intensified significantly after the assassination of British military successor Steven Saunders on June 8, 2000, and the dismantling of the “17N” terrorist organization, which helped British visitors consider Greece a safe tourist destination.

Regarding the inclusion of Greece in the “orange” list , Smith seemed reassuring, saying that the elements of the pandemic are reviewed every three weeks and estimated that Greece will soon become “green” so that British tourists can arrive in the country. which, after all, is their favorite destination.

For his part, the Minister of Civil Protection, Michalis Chrysochoidis, stressed that Greece is a safe destination.

The Minister of Civil Protection cited data on the reduction of crime that make our country a safe destination, while he also referred to the implementation of the Law on the management of gatherings, which makes the city friendly to its visitors, as, in the past, the gatherings and the episodes that occurred were a point of negative criticism from travel pages.

Finally, M. Chrysochoidis developed the plan for the strengthening of security and policing during the tourist season.

According to the minister, the plan includes from the enhanced police presence with personnel, but also technological means in destinations of high tourist attendance, such as Mykonos, to the enhanced presence of the police in tourist areas in Attica.

“In addition, we are staffing our airports to conduct inspections quickly and safely,” said the Minister of Civil Protection.

The Minister of Tourism, Haris Theocharis, noted that the Conference is being held at the best possible time and stressed that the duration of the tourist season this year will judge the final result in arrivals and revenues for Greek tourism.     Due to the Governments intransigence we now have our third flight cancelled Easyjet have today cancelled the flight on 9th July from Gatwick . They have yet to cancel the return flight on the 23rd ?? Will see what Boris has to Say on Monday 14th June???
