Construction of a middle support pillar on the Bailey Bridge in Poros began today with the help of the Ministry of National Defense.
For the correct static operation of the bridge, the reception of horizontal loads due to contractions – expansions or due to braking of passing vehicles and the uniform distribution of load from the bridge to its support points, to avoid stress on the concrete elements of the mezzanine will be placed.
After the execution of the aforementioned interventions, we expect the chronic problems of this important infrastructure of the settlement of Poros to be finally solved.
Next step is the construction of a sidewalk with an extension on the south side of the bridge, to separate pedestrian traffic from car traffic.
