Coronavirus: 1,383 new cases, 594 intubated and 98 deaths

It is recalled that the preparations for the arrival of the coronavirus vaccine in Greece have entered the final stretch, with the government being fully mobilized to plan the start of the vaccination process, which is expected in January.

Today we announce  1383 new  cases of the new virus in the country, of which  14  were detected after checks at the country’s gateways. The total number of cases is  114568 , of which 52.8% are men.

4981 (4.3%) are considered related to travel from abroad and 30207 (26.4%) are related to an already known case.

594 of  our fellow citizens are being treated by intubation. Their median age is 65 years. 171 (28.8%) are women and the rest are men. 77.3% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are 70 years of age or older. 641  patients have been discharged from the ICU.

Finally, we have  98  more recorded deaths and  2902  deaths in total in the country. 1156 (39.8%) women and the rest men. The median age of our deceased fellow citizens was 79 years and 96.1% had an underlying disease and / or age 70 years and over.
