Coronavirus: 18,333 (50 in Kefalonia & 2 in Ithaca) new cases, 73 deaths, 668 intubated in Greece today

In one day, another 73 of our fellow human beings died from complications of the disease while 18,333 new cases were confirmed 668 patients with coronavirus are being treated in the ICU compared to 679 announced yesterday.

The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 18,333, of which 45 were identified after checks at the country’s gates. The total number of cases amounts to 1,781,203 (daily change + 1.0%), of which 49.8% are men. Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 406 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 2,749 are related to an already known case.

The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 73, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 22,549 deaths have been recorded. 95.0% had underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.

The number of patients treated by intubation is 668 (59.6% men). Their median age is 66 years. 80.4% have underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older. Among intubated patients, 541 (80.99%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 127 (19.01%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,972 patients have been discharged from the ICU.

The admission of new Covid-19 patients to the hospitals of the territory is 544 (daily change + 16.49%). The average seven-day admission is 511 patients. The median age of cases is 36 years (range 0.2 to 106 years), while the median age of death is 78 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).
