Coronavirus: 2,448 new cases -14 dead, 196 intubated

EODY announced 2,448 new cases of coronavirus in our country in the last 24 hours.

493 cases were detected in Attica and 683 in Thessaloniki. According to EODY, 196 of our fellow citizens are hospitalized by intubation, while we have 14 more registered deaths and 715 deaths in total in the country.

It is reminded that the whole country enters a lockdown regime from tomorrow, November 7, 2020, at 6:00 in the morning, in order to put a “brake” on the spread of the coronavirus in the general population.

The travels until November 30 will be done exclusively by sending an SMS to 13033 , as last March, while for the employees the relevant certificates from their work are enough.

Yesterday, in an emergency briefing, the Deputy Minister of Civil Protection, Nikos Hardalias, specified the measures that will enter into force tomorrow morning, while analyzing the activities that will continue to operate throughout the lockdown.

Today we announce 2,448 new cases of the new virus in the country, of which 63 were detected following checks at the country’s gateways. The total number of cases is 52,254 , of which 54.4% are men.

4,369 (8.4%) are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 15,192 (29.1%) are related to an already known case.

196 of our fellow citizens are being treated by intubation. Their median age is 66 years. 45 (23.0%) are women and the rest are men. 91.3% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are aged 70 years and older. 315 patients have been discharged from the ICU.

Finally, we have 14 more recorded deaths and 715 * deaths in total in the country. 279 (39.0%) women and the rest men. The median age of our deceased fellow citizens was 79 years and 96.5% had an underlying disease and / or age 70 years and over.
