Coronavirus: 50 deaths, 12,518 (30 in Kefalonia & 6 in Ithaca) new cases, 361 intubated in Greece today

The data presented relate to incidents from the epidemiological surveillance of the disease by the new coronavirus (COVID-19), based on the data reported to EODY and recorded until 09 April 2022 (09:00). The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease (individuals) recorded in the last 24 hours were 12,518. The total number of people who became ill amounts to 3,164.99 (daily change + 0.4%), of which 49.0% are men.

The number of possible new infections recorded in the last 24 hours was 232 while since the beginning of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic the total number is estimated at 118,767 (3.6% of the total number of positive results).

The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 50, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 28,076 deaths have been recorded. 95.4% had underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.

The number of patients treated by intubation is 361 (65.9% men). Their median age is 70 years. 92.2% have an underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older. Among intubated patients, 200 (55.4%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 161 (44.6%) are fully vaccinated.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,509 patients have been discharged from the ICU. The admissions of new COVID-19 patients in the hospitals of the territory are 340 (daily change -0.87%). The average seven-day admission is 369 patients. The median age of cases is 36 years (range 0.2 to 112 years), while the median age of death is 79 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).
