Coronavirus: 58 new deaths, 23,529 (78 in Kefalonia & 1 in Ithaca) cases in the last 24 hours and 337 intubated in Greece today

The data presented relate to cases from the epidemiological surveillance of the disease by the new coronavirus (COVID19), based on the data reported to EODY and recorded until March 21, 2022 (time 15:00).

The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 23,529, of which 32 were identified after checks at the country’s gates.

The total number of cases is 2,812,182 (daily change + 0.8%), of which 49.3% are men. Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 165 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 1,579 are related to an already known case.

The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 58, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 26,995 deaths have been recorded. 95.2% had underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.

The number of patients treated by intubation is 337 (63.5% men). Their median age is 69 years. 90.5% have
underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older. Among intubated patients, 212 (62.91%) are unvaccinated
or partially vaccinated and 125 (37.09%) are fully vaccinated. Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,401 patients have been discharged from the ICU.

The admission of new Covid-19 patients to the hospitals of the territory is 303 (daily change -12.43%). The average
seven-day admission is 337 patients. The median age of cases is 35 years (range 0.2 to 112 years), while the median age of death
is 79 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).
