Coronavirus: 73 deaths, 27,490 (73 in Kefalonia & 9 in Ithaca) new cases, 342 intubated in Greece today

The announcement of EODY for the new cases of coronavirus
The data presented relate to cases from the epidemiological surveillance of the disease by the new coronavirus (COVID-19), based on the data reported to EODY and recorded until March 28, 2022 (time 15:00).

The new laboratory-confirmed cases of the disease recorded in the last 24 hours are 27,490, of which 14 were identified after checks at the country’s gates.

The total number of cases amounts to 2,957,810 (daily change + 0.9%), of which 49.2% are men.

Based on the confirmed cases of the last 7 days, 150 are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 1,165 are related to an already known case.

The new deaths of patients with COVID-19 are 73, while since the beginning of the epidemic a total of 27,341 deaths have been recorded. 95.3% had underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.

The number of patients treated by intubation is 342 (65.2% men). Their median age is 70 years. 90.9% have underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.

Among intubated patients, 201 (58.77%) are unvaccinated or partially vaccinated and 141 (41.23%) are fully vaccinated.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,431 patients have been discharged from the ICU.

The admission of new Covid-19 patients to the hospitals of the territory is 441 (daily change + 27.83%).

The average seven-day admission is 402 patients.

The median age of cases is 36 years (range 0.2 to 112 years), while the median age of death is 79 years (range 0.2 to 106 years).
