Coronavirus: Endless nightmare -480 intubated, 3,209 cases, 60 dead

The pandemic of Covid-19 is evolving into an endless nightmare, as EODY – while we are going through the second week of lockdown – announced 3,209 new cases of coronavirus in our country in the last 24 hours, when the intubated reached the shocking record number of 480.

Finally, we have 60 more recorded deaths and 1288 deaths in total in the country

Yesterday, EODY announced 2,422 new cases of coronavirus and
63 more registered deaths.

It is recalled that earlier today, Stelios Petsas stated that the government’s plan to lift the lockdown is to open restaurants and cafes before Christmas .

“We are a few days away from examining and presenting the plan for the next phase and the lifting of the lockdown,” said Mr. Petsas, stressing that the government’s plan envisages the opening of schools first, then retail and then of catering before the Christmas holidays.

The announcement of EODY
Today we announce 3209 new cases of the new virus in the country, of which 29 were detected after checks at the country’s gateways. The total number of cases is 82034 , of which 53.7% are men.

4714 (5.7%) are considered to be related to travel from abroad and 20917 (25.5%) are related to an already known case.

480 of our fellow citizens are being treated by intubation. Their median age is 65 years. 148 (30.8%) are women and the rest are men. 81.0% of intubated patients have an underlying disease or are 70 years of age or older. 410 patients have been discharged from the ICU.

Finally, we have 60 more recorded deaths and 1288 deaths in total in the country. 523 (40.6%) women and the rest men. The median age of our dying fellow citizens was 80 years and 97.4% had some underlying disease and / or age 70 years and older.
