Coronavirus: Fine of 10,000 euros in stores that do not close at midnight

The Deputy Minister of Civil Protection and Crisis Management stressed the need for compliance by all and the individual protection measures to prevent the proliferation of cases

Put into effect from today the new measures adopted – after the government meeting and epidimiologon- in an effort to limit the spread of coronavirus while Monday announced 126 new cases in the country. In the morning it became known that an 89-year-old woman, who was being treated at the Ptolemaida Hospital, ended up bringing the total number of victims to 214.

“From August 1st to date in the country had 961 new confirmed cases, which led to yesterday’s decision of the government to impose new measures to curb the rising tide of the epidemic,” said the Civil Protection undersecretary and Management Crisis Nick Chardalias, when established weekly update on the course of the coronavirus pandemic .

The deputy minister referred in detail to the new measures announced by the government on Monday, and clarified that the presentation of a negative molecular test (PCR test) for those entering the country does not apply to children under the age of 10. After summarizing the new measures that were announced, he said that in stores that will not comply with the closing measure at 24.00, 10,000 euros will be imposed in the first violation while in the second violation there is a suspension for 20 days. 

Among other things, he said that the implementation of the new measures will be constantly monitored ” because only in this way will we avoid the worst”. “ Every night we meet, analyze the data and determine our next move,” said Nikos Hardalias.

Among other things, he said that from July 1 to August 10, 266,116 molecular tests were performed on 2,162,251 people entering the country and 508 active cases of coronavirus were detected. Of these, 164 remain active, 243 have returned to their countries, while 101 are no longer active and remain in our country.

Nikos Hardalias stressed the need for compliance by all and the individual protection measures so that there is no proliferation of cases.
