Coronavirus: Seven cases now in Greece

Three new outbreaks were announced by the health ministry on Saturday. In addition to the 38-year-old in Thessaloniki, her child and two other women in Athens, three more confirmed cases of SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus have been announced today by health ministry officials. They are a Greek woman and two Greeks.

The fifth case is a Greek woman who had close contact with the 38 year old from Thessaloniki, who was the first case of coronavirus in our country. He remains in solitary confinement at a reference hospital in Thessaloniki. The incident was diagnosed at the Laboratory of Microbiology of the AUTH Medical School.

The sixth case concerns a Greek who recently traveled (on 26 February) to an affected area of ​​Italy (Milan) and remains in isolation at a reference hospital in Athens. The incident was diagnosed at the Greek Pasteur Institute and is reported to be a 62-year-old man. According to the same information, on his return he had a fever and shortness of breath, and initially he, like the 40-year-old bank employee, went to Sotiria.

The seventh case is a Greek, close contact of the third confirmed case in Greece, which remains in isolation at a Athens referral hospital. The incident was diagnosed at the Laboratory of Microbiology of the Nursing School of Nursing. It is recalled that the third confirmed case in Greece was the 40-year-old from Marousi , who was suffering until she was diagnosed with the virus, passing, among other things, the “Sotiria” hospital.

To date, there have been four outbreaks in Greece, two in Athens and two in Thessaloniki. The first case in Greece was that of the 38-year-old in Thessaloniki and was detected on February 26. The second case was her 9-year-old son, while the third case was located in Athens, which was the first in the capital. It was the 40-year-old from Marousi who was hospitalized in Atticon. The 36-year-old was hospitalized in the same hospital, which was the fourth case of coronavirus in our country. Note that the first four people diagnosed with coronavirus continue to be hospitalized in Athens and Thessaloniki, in good condition.
