On Wednesday, November 19, 2020 was presented by representatives of the Social Cooperative Company of Collective and Social Welfare Paths of Greece, the first delivery of the relevant contract signed with the municipality focused on the design, development and promotion of an expanded network of hiking paths in the area of the Municipality of Argostoli, Kefalonia.
The first deliverable concerned;
• Capture of Existing Route Status
• Detailed Search For Old Trails
• Research and Recording of Points of Interest
• Network Capture Design.
The company’s proposal concerns the implementation of a basic initial network of routes with a total length of 95 km (not including the routes within the national park of Ainos) which are scattered throughout the Municipality and cover the main points of environmental and cultural interest but also important number of settlements and villages.
Specifically, it was proposed the implementation of 12 routes, most of them circular, of all degrees of difficulty and length ranging from 3,340 meters the smallest to 14,200 meters the largest and which include 220 points of interest.
