ENFIA ‘s statements were posted late last night and now 6.3 million property owners can be informed about the tax they will pay. The first installment will be paid by the end of May, as provided by an amendment of the Ministry of Finance , which was submitted to Parliament on Monday. Specifically, and in accordance with what is mentioned in the amendment, ENFIA “is paid in up to 10 equal monthly installments, each of which may not be less than EUR 10, of which the first installment shall be paid by the last working day of the month in which the tax assessment is issued, provided that the tax assessment is issued by the 15th of that month. and the next installments until the last working day of each following month and the last installment is paid until the last working day of February of the following year “.
What is changing
The new statement has many differences compared to last year. Specifically, the new form that the property owners will receive will have a complete picture of the resulting tax, so that the owners can make their comparisons and know the increase or decrease of the tax they will have. The new total value of the real estate that has arisen after the revaluation of the objective values will be recorded in the ENFIA account, as well as:
• The deduction or increase of the principal tax based on the total value of real estate.
• The main tax.
• 50% or 100% discount for low-income property owners.
• The total amount of ENFIA.
According to the calculations of the Ministry of Finance, ENFIA will be lower for 5,000,000 taxpayers, for a 13% the bill remains unchanged, while increases in ENFIA are expected for 7% to 8% of property owners. The weighted average reduction amounts to 13% and is added to the 22% reduction of the real estate tax that took place in 2019, with the result that the total reduction of ENFIA compared to 2018 exceeds 30%.
