Ethiopian Airlines says Kenya flight with 157 onboard has crashed

The brand-new Boeing 737-MAX, which was delivered to the company four months ago, crashed a few minutes after its take off, the first report said.

According to a company spokesman, 157 people, 149 passengers and 8 crew members were on board.

The crash of the aircraft announced the office of Ethiopian Prime Minister Abdi Ahmed.

“The Prime Minister’s office on behalf of the government and the people of Ethiopia would like to express their deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their loved ones in the morning on a scheduled Boeing 737 flight from Ethiopian Airlines to Nairobi, Kenya,” the announcement on Twitter.
