According to EMY, the weather in our country is expected to worsen from this afternoon (Monday 07-02-2022) until the morning hours of Wednesday (09-02-2022), with the main characteristics of the stormy winds of intensity 8 to 10 Beaufort, locally heavy rains and storms, temporary heavy snowfall in central and northern and the noticeable drop in temperature. A. Monday (07-02-2022)
a) Stormy north northwest winds will prevail in the west from the evening hours, when their intensity will reach 8 to 9 Beaufort.
b) Heavy rains and thunderstorms in places will occur from the afternoon in the northern Ionian and Epirus, which at night will extend to Macedonia, Thrace, Thessaly, Sporades, southern Ionian, Sterea, Peloponnese and islands. of the northern Aegean.
Heavy snowfalls in places will occur from the evening in western Macedonia and in the mountains – semi-mountains of Epirus and gradually in central and eastern Macedonia and Thrace.
B. Tuesday (08-02-2022)
a) Stormy north northwest winds of 8 to 10 Beaufort will blow throughout the country.
b) In places, heavy rains and thunderstorms will occur from the early morning hours in the sea and coastal areas of eastern Macedonia, Thrace and Thessaly, in the Sporades, in Evia, in the islands of the northern and eastern Aegean, gradually in the Dodecanese and in the Cyclades and Crete.
Heavy snowfall in places will occur in the mountains and semi-mountains of eastern Macedonia, Thrace and Evia.
The phenomena in eastern Macedonia and Thrace will weaken quickly and will stop in the afternoon, while gradually until the evening will be limited to the Cyclades, Crete and the Dodecanese.
c) The temperature will drop significantly by 8 to 10 degrees Celsius in northern and central Greece.
C. Wednesday (09-02-2022)
a) In the morning, the stormy north northwest winds will be maintained with a local intensity of 9 Beaufort in the central and southern Aegean, but they will gradually be limited to the southeast and from noon they will weaken.
b) In the morning there will be heavy rains in places in the Cyclades and northern Crete.

At the same time, according to the forecast data of the National Observatory of Athens / Meteo.gr, a cold front is expected to cross the country rapidly from the first evening hours of Monday 07/02 and from the north. During Tuesday 08/02 the front will temporarily affect many areas of our country.
During its passage, the cold front is expected to cause a drop in temperature of 9-10 degrees in a very short time and an intensification of winds in places in stormy, with intensities of 8 Beaufort and gusts of very high speeds. At the same time, there will be rainfall, thunderstorms mainly in the northeastern country and in the Aegean, and temporary snowfall in both mountainous and semi-mountainous parts, as well as in low altitude areas from Central Greece and further north.
