Further extension to closure of Ainos National Park until Monday 27 July

Extension of the traffic ban for vehicles and excursionists in the Ainos National Park until Monday, July 27

 We would like to inform you that the ban on the entry of hikers and vehicles in the Ainos National Park is extended until Monday, July 27 at 15:00 noon, as according to the fire risk forecast map issued by the General Secretariat for Civil Protection, the risk category for the Region Section of Kefallinia corresponds to the degree of danger 3 (High) and the risk of fire is particularly high.

The Management Body of Ainos National Park will ensure that it informs the competent authorities for the implementation of the measure.

Local media are kindly requested to facilitate the information of the public.

The residents of the island are requested to cooperate with the competent services for the implementation of the measure and the protection of the Ainos National Park.

As stated the reason for the continuing closure is kefalonia has been classified as high fire risk across this weekend, here is today’s (Saturday 25 July) fire risk map produced by Civil protection Greece.
