In recent days I have been in constant communication with the Deputy Minister of Health Mr. Vassilis Kontozamanis and the Governor of the 6th Health District Mr. Yiannis Karvelis, in order to promote the coverage of staff needs for the health structures of our county.

After my latest phone calls today, I am pleased to announce that the list of emergency procedures for the health structures of Kefalonia and Ithaca has been finalized. It is very important to note that all the requests of the Commander of the General Staff of Kefallinia Mr. Messari were accepted.

Specifically, the following locations correspond to our prefecture:

  • 50 nursing positions , technical , administrative and paramedical staff .
  • 7 posts of 36-month auxiliary medical staff ( specialties: anesthesiology, pulmonology-tuberculosis, pathology, cardiology ).
  • At the same time, there is an ongoing effort to bring new permanent medical staff to our county, from the positions of doctors that have been announced in the past months.

I appeal to all those who are interested in expressing their interest immediately, and in particular to our compatriots and compatriots who live elsewhere in Greece and are eligible.

Those interested can contact the 6 The Health Region and the recruitment process is completed the same day.

For housing in our prefecture they can contact the Regional Unit of Kefalonia and Ithaca and will receive all possible assistance.

I would like to thank the management of the health units in the prefecture, in particular the commander Mr. Fotis Messari and the deputy commander Mr. Dimitris Dimoulios, as well as the President of the Kefallinias Medical Association. Sophia Zafeiratou. With their guidance convey to the Ministry of Health and six the Health Region needs that exist in our county for the shield.
