Greek Coronavirus daily update; 217 new cases today with 15 detected at borders

Specifically, the announcement of the National Organization of Public Health states:

Today we announce 217 new cases of the new virus in the country, of which 15 were detected after checks at the country’s gateways. The total number of cases is 7075, of which 55.2% are men.

1667 (23.6%) are considered related to travel from abroad and 3353 (47.4%) are related to an already known case.

24 of our fellow citizens are being treated by intubation. Their median age is 63 years. 8 (33.3%) are women and the rest are men. 50.0% have an underlying disease or are aged 70 years and older. 136 patients have been discharged from the ICU.

Finally, we have 2 more recorded deaths and 228 deaths in total in the country. 79 (34.6%) women and the rest men. The median age of our dying fellow citizens was 77 years and 95.6% had some underlying disease and / or age 70 and over.

Two new coronavirus deaths were recorded on Sunday , bringing the total death toll in the country to 228.

Specifically, a 71-year-old man with underlying diseases ended up at the AHEPA hospital, while an 87-year-old woman at Bodosakeio, Ptolemaida, who also had underlying diseases. It is recalled that 230 cases were reported on Saturday, 254 on Friday, 204 on Thursday and 262 on Wednesday (negative record to date since the start of the pandemic).
