Horrendous night for passengers on Ryanair Stansted to Kefalonia yesterday (updated information)

As we reported last night with winds blowing a over 130KM/H last night on Kefalonia the flight after two loops to the west of Kefalonia aborted landing and diverted to Thessaloniki

At 23:15 EEST the plane took back off from Thessaloniki airport and attempted to land again at Kefalonia so after  two further attempts the pilot decided the turbulence was still too much and returned to London.

We hope everyone involved whether in Thessaloniki, London or Kefalonia this morning have a smooth journey to their destinations today.

Ryanair knew the weather was bad. They should have cancelled after the first attempt. We were stuck in departures for 7 hours which was bad enough and had to rebook to return to Stansted on Sunday. I cannot imagine what a dreadful experience the people on the inbound flight had… it must have been terrifying experiencing aborted landings and diversions in such strong winds, only to end up back where they came from!!
