In the night sky on Tuesday the pink super-full moon

The pink Moon will be visible on Tuesday, ie the first full moon of Spring. The name was given by the Native Americans thanks to the color of a wild flower that grows at the same time.

The color of the full moon will be relatively orange and this is because the Earth’s atmosphere dissolves the blue and green light waves and leaves only the red, orange and yellow ones.

The moon will be very close to Earth, making it 30% brighter and 14% larger. The elliptical orbit of the moon means that the point that will approach the Earth will be about 220,000 miles.

According to astronomers, this supermoon will be the second of a total of three this year but is expected to be the most impressive.
