Italy: Closed borders until the end of 2020 (hence no travel through Italy to Greece this year)

Italy’s border crossings will remain closed to international travelers until the end of the year, the country’s Minister of Culture and Tourism, who suffered a severe blow from the pandemic, Dario Franceschini, told La Repubblica.

The opening of the borders will depend on the epidemiological situation and the policies of each country separately, Mr. Franceschini underlined.

At the same time, the minister acknowledged that Italy’s museums and major attractions, which were closed due to the coronation pandemic, would resume operations in May. Among them are the Colosseum and Pompeii.
