Le Figaro: The Acropolis is among the greatest miracles ever captured by the human mind

“The monuments of the Acropolis are among the greatest miracles ever captured by the human mind,” says the Figaro-Hors series, the magazine of the French newspaper Le Figaro, in a magazine titled “Eternal Athens”.

The article is dedicated to the restoration work of the Acropolis , stressing that the 45 years of work have deeply transformed the identity of the monument.

For a generation of Greek archaeologists, rehabilitation has been the work of a lifetime. The French magazine refers to the length of the rehabilitation work , quoting the then general manager of Greek antiquities Lazaros Kolonas during the 2004 Olympic Games, who pointed out that the work would last as long as necessary and not be endangered, rush, the severity of a recovery that had begun for thirty years.
