Masks: Where they will no longer be mandatory – Everything that changes from June 1st

The rules for the use of a mask change from June 1 with the obligation to be abolished in certain enclosed spaces. However, for some it remains, as the Minister of Health Thanos Plevris clarified today .

In particular, from June 1 to September 15, 2022 , the mandatory mask is suspended in all outdoor and indoor areas such as public transport with numbered seats (trains, planes, etc.).

It is emphasized that the abolition of compulsory use also applies to employees in these areas.

The mask remains in hospitals and nursing homes, but also in other health structures where its presence is considered necessary at the moment, while those who use public transport such as city buses, metro, trolleybuses should move with a mask . , the tram and the electric.

With regard to educational structures and  coastal shipping  , the Minister of Health said that the committee will decide next week on what exactly will be implemented after studying all the data.

Finally, he stressed that the lifting means that no fines will be imposed however the urge and recommendation remains that the mask should be used in all these areas “and especially by the population belonging to vulnerable groups”.
