Back in 2003, our Founder, Pat Dolman set up the KATs charity, as she realized there was a huge problem with stray animals who were ‘found’, dumped or handed in by people who were unable to care for them. She knew the only way to control the stray population was with sterilization, which of course cost money, hence the need of the charity.
You will know from our posts how successful KATs has become in raising money to fund the neutering and welfare programme, for which we thank you for continuing to support the charity. However, we have become a victim of our own success, as more people are requesting help from us in neutering their animals, especially from the local population – the message is slowly getting through!
Over the years we have helped hundreds of people by neutering their animals free of charge but we are now finding that we are running short of money to do the work we set out to do, neuter the strays. We don’t like/want to turn people away but neither do we want to have to make a charge for neutering, which would be an alternative and how most other animal charities fund their work.
On our Facebook page we have 3,088 followers and we are sure there are many more non-Facebook supporters. If everyone paid £2 into our Paypal account each month, this would pay the monthly vet’s fees and therefore give us more money to help neuter and care for more unwanted and abandoned cats, kittens, dogs and puppies, which is what Pat Dolman set out to do in the first place.
Please help us to continue to carry out the work that Pat started and make a monthly deposit to our Paypal account – email@example.com
Please write that the donation is for ‘Pat’s Cats & Dogs’.
