NAVAGHIO| Countdown to lift the ban on the beach

 

The countdown was strated to lift the ban on the Navaghio Beach after a meeting in the City Hall on Friday morning, at the initiative of the Portmaster of Zakynthos, Athanasios Siouti. The meeting was attended by representatives of the local authorities and bodies (Region, Municipality, NMPH, Chamber), as well as owners of touring boats and daydrivers, who were invited to discuss the approach and mooring of floating means and swimming in the bay of the Navajo.

Following the city council decisions, which define it as a safe area on the beach for the simultaneous stay of up to 1.100 people (Lekka study), the meeting was held to determine the approach and the time of stay of the boats in the bay.

Now what is left is that the Municipality sends a document to the Port Authority to inform about the completion of security measures on the beach and from then on the decision will be sent by the Port Authority to the National Printing Office for publication.

In particular, it is foreseen to approach and stay the vessels as follows:

a) Category 1: Y / C – T / R ships of 200 persons or more 
Stay within the 25 meter corridor on the left of the incoming floating means of the bay as defined by the Municipality of Zakynthos as below: 
From 10:30 to 12 : 00 one Y / C – T / R ship (hinterland) of more than 200 persons 
From 12:00 to 13:00 two Y / C – T / R ships (dayboats) of more than 200 people 
From 13:00 to 14:00 : 00 an E / C – T / R ship (hintergate) of more than 200 persons 
From 14:00 to 15:00 an A / C – T / R vessel (hovercraft) of more than 200 persons

(b) Category 2: Y / P – T / R vessels of 100 to 200 persons capacity

Stay within the 25 meter corridor on the left of the incoming floating means of the Ormos as defined by the Municipality of Zakynthos as follows: 
From 09:00 to 12:00 three E / C – T / R ships (dayboats) from 100 to 200 people 
From 14:00 to 17:00 three Y / C – T / R ships (daytime) from 100 to 200 people

(c) Category 3: Y / P – T / R vessels of up to one hundred (100) persons.

Stay within the corridor twenty-five (25) meters to the right of the incoming floating means on the side of the bay as defined by the Municipality of Zakynthos as follows: 
Simultaneous stay of up to five E / C – T / P ships to one hundred (100) . The above vessels will remain at the Shipwreck and will not depart until the passengers have already landed on the homonymous beach in order to ensure their safe removal if required due to an emergency.

In the same marine area will be the private boats / yachts and boats / yachts. 38 GC. It should be noted that more than five (05) boats / boats are prohibited in the above area.
