How to select the travelers to be tested
Sampling in our country to foreign visitors is based on smart software and a special algorithm applied by the General Secretariat for Civil Protection.
It is recalled that the passenger tracking form (PLF) is a key element in the design of our country and will be valid until Monday, August 31, 2020. Travelers completing the PLF provide information about the airport of departure, their address, time of year. their stay in Greece, as well as other data, as determined by the form. This information is processed by an algorithm and thus shows whether the passenger has a low or high probability of being infected by the coronavirus.
By completing the special form, the traveler automatically receives a barcode in his e-mail or mobile phone with which he will be able to travel . Travelers who enter the country by air, after their arrival are transported to the place where the control staff is and “checks” the barcode.
If, after processing the passenger’s information, the passenger is selected to undergo a coronary test, he is obliged to consent to the inspection.
The passenger will then have to remain in solitary confinement for 24 hours and until the results are sent to the residence address he has declared. The accommodation, which accommodates the traveler, is informed of the self-isolation. It is noted that the cost is covered by travelers, as the isolation in a hotel with expenses of the Greek State for the period until the test results come out is no longer valid.
What happens when a traveler is positive about the coronary artery?
If the test result is negative, the traveler is free to move anywhere in the country. Conversely, if the test result is positive in Covid-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, then the patient will be placed in a 14-day quarantine with the state covering the costs, ie accommodation, meals and medical care.
In particular, if the patient does not need treatment, he remains in the quarantine hotel for 14 days, while if he needs to be treated, he is provided with full medical care in a hospital in the country. If the traveler does not have insurance coverage, access to the country’s services is free.
“We are not worried about the islands, but about the overcrowding and the parties”
Meanwhile, the “first test” of tourist arrivals in the middle of the corona pandemic was successful. president of the hospital doctors, Matina Pagoni , speaking on SKAI TV.
“Yes, people on the islands want tourism, but they are afraid that if there is a case, how will it be treated,” he explained, but assured that possible cases on the island will be addressed.
“The doctors have been informed. There are specific protocols. There must be trust in the Greek scientific world “, said Mrs. Pagoni and admitted that there is concern for the big cities, for the phenomena of holding parties and crowding.
At the same time, regarding the results of the tests for the corona, which were submitted to tourists who arrived in Greece yesterday, the president of the hospital doctors clarified that they will leave this afternoon.
“It simply came to our notice then. We will have the first picture “, he said characteristically on the TV station, adding that the tests will continue.
