“The transmission of the new coronavirus is spreading worldwide. The whole of Europe is in an epidemic phase of multiple imports, with subsequent transmission to the community. Today, worldwide, we have more than 106,000 cases in more than 100 countries.

Public Health Protection Measures in Swimming Pools
Meanwhile, the need for immediate measures to prevent the spread of the virus in swimming pool facilities is highlighted in a circular by the health ministry. The circular is being communicated to all the Environmental Health Services of the Regional Units of the country, which, within their competencies, must intensify their health checks in the swimming pools of their areas of responsibility.
The Ministry of Health draws the attention of the responsible operators of the swimming pools to:
Strict compliance with all the hygiene requirements of swimming pools, as stated in the relevant applicable health legislation (spectator balconies, changing rooms, showers, changing rooms, washbasins, fountains)
Strict water quality assurance of bathing tanks, which will be ensured by the required sampling, the frequency of which is recommended to be doubled (at least 2 samples per week) for the next 4 months.
The swimming pool water recirculation system, which must be continuously renewed throughout its operation, at a rate that ensures its full renewal in no more than 4 hours and in special cases of 6 hours. The renewal must be achieved either by continuous flow of new clean water or by recirculation of the tank water after prior purification and disinfection. The water purification-disinfection recirculation system will operate all hours of use of the tanks and beyond for as long as necessary to ensure the water is clear and microbiologically appropriate.
The disinfection of water in them, which is mandatory in all cases of the operation of swimming pools.
Measurement of the chlorine residue in the water of the swimming pools which will be chromatographed by the DPD method (Diethylparaphenyldiamine) and rigorously between 0.4 and 0.7 mg / l.
Strict cleanliness and thorough cleaning of swimming pools.
