PCR test: Maimum set at 47 euros from Thursday – The whole decision

The PCR tests will be 13 euros cheaper from Thursday, January 6, as announced by the Ministry of Development at noon on Tuesday (04.01.2021). A decision by Adonis Georgiadis is also expected.

From 60 euros, which is currently the price of a PCR test with the decision of the Ministry of Development is reduced and the maimum is set at 47 euros: 35 euros will be the upper limit of the charge for the analysis of the sample and 12 euros for sampling.

However, if the sampling for a PCR test is not done in a diagnostic center or a private clinic then there is no ceiling and the price can be configured freely!

The announcement of the Ministry of Development

The General Secretariat for Trade and Consumer Protection of the Ministry of Development and Investment informs the consumer public, the diagnostic laboratories and the private clinics that from Thursday 06/01/2022 the maximum price limits (ceiling) for the diagnostic test by PCR method are modified. as follows:

  1. Maximum service charge (sample analysis, etc.) including the required reagents and consumables, the amount of thirty five (35) euros.
  2. Maximum charge price for sampling in private diagnostic laboratories and private clinics the amount of twelve (12) euros.

The above charge price limits do not apply in the case where the sampling is carried out outside private diagnostic laboratories and private clinics in which case their price is freely adjusted.

The above will be provided in a Decision of the Minister of Development and Investment, Adonis Georgiadis, which is in the process of being issued.
