PPC Managing Director: How much electricity bills will be cut

Over € 50 a year will be the benefit to an average household from a 6% reduction in VAT on electricity, instead of 13% as of May 1st, PPC Chairman and Chief Executive Manolis Panagiotakis said in an interview with ERT.

As he explained, the VAT reduction relates to the total of the charges included in the bill other than the municipal fees, whereas only by charging the energy the benefit will be 33 euros per year. It is also expected, as he said, a circular from the Finance Ministry that will clarify how to apply and share the reduction in the accounts issued after the measure’s validity.

The head of PPC has announced initiatives to improve the customer service of the company, including the opening of three new stores in Omonoia, Piraeus and Ampelokipi, as well as the promotion of electronic accounts that have reached 1,000,000.

At the same time, PPC is close to an agreement with chains of stores where PPC stands and employees will serve consumers on electricity and gas issues as PPC plans to have electricity and gas packages since September.
