Preliminary data: Earthquake between 4.8r and 5.0r

A 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck near Argostoli, Kefallonia, Ionian Islands, Greece.

The tremor was recorded early afternoon on Friday November 19th, 2021 at 3:27 pm local time, at a shallow depth of 10 km below the surface.

The event was filed by the National Observatory of Athens (NOA), the first seismological agency to report it.

A second report was later issued by the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), which listed it as a magnitude 4.9 earthquake.

A third agency, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), reported the same quake at magnitude 5.0.
