Prescription: From now on, medical prescriptions on mobile through gov.gr

Citizens have the ability to get their prescriptions on their cellphone without having to have them printed on the pharmacist, as the application for intentional prescription through gov.gr is being put on trial.

This is a joint initiative of the Ministries of Digital Governance and Health, which makes a very important and sensitive process simpler for all involved (citizens, doctors, pharmacists) while ensuring safety, transparency and privacy at all stages. In addition, remote prescription is introduced for cases of repeated prescriptions for chronic diseases, relieving the vulnerable groups of the population of the need for a personal presence in the clinic.

The new procedure is optional. To activate it, citizens must go to gov.gr, first select the category “Health and Welfare” and then the subcategory “Health File”, where they will find the application for intentional prescription, where they will enter using their Taxisnet and AMKA codes.

The mobile phone number and email address of each citizen will then be requested (and confirmed by message) to receive the recipe by SMS and / or e-mail.

The doctor will enter the e-prescription.gr platform, where he will register the prescription in the same way he has done so far. However, when it comes to citizens who have opted for intangible prescription, instead of printing it will send its code by SMS and / or e-mail. At the same time, the prescription will be associated with the patient’s PMCA.

The pharmacist will perform the prescription again via the e-prescription.gr platform only with the code sent by the physician to the patient. If, however, the message is lost or for any reason the patient cannot access it, the prescription will be able to be traced and executed through the AMKA. Once the process is successfully completed, the citizen will be informed by SMS and / or e-mail.
