Secretary General of Public Health: What happened to the masks
It is recalled that a lot of discussion and sharp comments brought the stuff with the anti-coronavirus masks that were distributed to schools on the first day of the school year.
The huge masks that were distributed in many cases, sparked ironic comments on social media but also accusations and assumptions about who is responsible.
The Ministry of Health tried to answer the question with the large size of the coronavirus masks that were distributed to students and teachers.
The General Secretariat of Public Health explained how the dimensions of the masks were confused. “The dimensions are in accordance with the respective international standards. However, they concerned the size of the fabric before it was sewn and not the final size of the two types of masks “, said, among other things, the announcement of the General Secretariat of Public Health.
The announcement of the Secretary General of Public Health about the masks
“As part of the process of restarting the school year and the safe integration of students in the school community, the relevant Committees that provide daily scientific support for the treatment of coronavirus, among other things, recommended the dimensions for the masks of students and teachers.
The dimensions are in accordance with the respective international specifications. However, they concerned the size of the fabric before it was sewn and not the final size of the two types of masks.
The wording of this distinction between initial and final dimensions was not clear, with the result that a number of the masks distributed were larger than appropriate.
The General Secretariat of Public Health has clearly redefined the correct specifications and will send them again to KEDE, which is responsible for the tender for their supply, so that the masks that will be distributed later will be the right size “.
