An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale occurred just off Crete.
In particular, according to the Euro-Mediterranean Institute, the earthquake is around 5.5 Richter.
According to the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory of Athens, the epicenter of the earthquake was 62 km south of Zakros, with a focal depth of 15.3.
There are no reports of damage from the earthquake in Crete
Police and fire brigades in Crete have not yet reported any damage after the earthquake shook the island.
