The major reconstruction of Argostoli-Poros has begun

The Deputy Regional Governor of Kefallinia and Ithaca, Mr. Stavros Travlos, had an autopsy on the Argostoli-Poros provincial road at Plateies and information from the topographic engineer Mr. Ioannis Bardakis. Mr. Bardakis is the head of the team of surveyors who have started a month ago to map the provincial road of Argostoli Poros, in the context of the study prepared by the Ministry of Infrastructure for this road.

The study will describe all the necessary interventions that this very important road needs, mainly widening and hydraulic works in order to meet the modern requirements of road traffic and safety. This project is one of the largest road interventions ever made on the island, started with a decision of the Prime Minister Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis who once again showed his personal interest in Kefalonia and Ithaca.

After the autopsy, the Deputy Regional Governor stated:

“From the first moment we took over, we made it clear that the improvement of the main entrance artery to our island, the road that connects our capital with the port of Poros, is a first priority project for us. We immediately made several point interventions (Markopoulos-Kolaiti-Adraki-Vlachata) and completed the overall demarcation of the road. Today we have the pleasure to see the Ministry of Infrastructure prepare an improvement study along the entire length of the road following an order from Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. The end of the study that is expected soon will mean the beginning of the implementation of this very important project since the funding is secured. The importance of the project does not need many words, all our fellow citizens know it well, both for the overall development and for the safety of transport.

Bloody hell, an autopsy right on the road? Or on the man himself??? Perhaps the Dep. Reg. Gov. Mr Travlos “travelled” there to count the “Autos”, i.e. vehicles? Language can be a source of fun – if only the right translation programme is used …
