Theodorikakos: Free masks for students in all schools in Greece

Interior Minister Takis Theodorikakos revealed that the government will cover the needs for masks of all students through the local authorities, in the context of the new measures for the coronavirus and the opening of schools.

Speaking on SKAI radio, Mr. Theodorikakos said “following an order from Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and in consultation with the Committee of Experts, we are preparing to meet the needs for masks of all students through the local government.”

He added that it will concern all students, at all levels of education, in all schools in Greece.

The mask will be mandatory only in the classrooms
Earlier, the Minister of Education, Niki Kerameos, speaking to the OPEN television station, clarified that “the use of the mask will be indoors. Outside will only be if there is overcrowding. Outdoors, in the gym or during breaks and so on. “Children of any age will not need to wear a mask . ”

The Minister of Education stressed that the mask is a shield for children’s health and revealed that students will not be required to wear it all the time at school , but only indoors. That is, in the courtyard, children can take a break without their masks.
