Today’s update on Greek coronavirus numbers 103 new cases today making a new total of 331

Health Ministry spokesman Sotiris Tsiodras announced 103 new confirmed cases of coronavirus in Greece, bringing the total to 331.

Four dead

Four people have been killed by a coronavirus in Greece so far this morning, as a 53-year-old man was hospitalized at AHEPA on Sunday morning.

 

The 53-year-old had been found positive for coronavirus and had been hospitalized for the last 24 hours at a Intensive Care Unit at AHEPA Hospital in Thessaloniki. His death was confirmed by AEPA Hospital Panagiotis Pandeliadis speaking to RES-EIA.

The 53-year-old from Siatista Kozani was the first confirmed case of a coronavirus in Western Macedonia. He worked as a manufacturer at the Kastoria Hospital Microbiological Laboratory. With no travel record found in endemic areas, the unfortunate man went to the Siatista Health Center last Monday where investigators contacted EODY.

He then went with his brother to the Mamazio Hospital in Kozani for further examinations and when diagnosed with coronary artery disease he was transferred to AHEPA in Thessaloniki. His health for the next 24 hours was complicated by the consequence of his death this morning. It is known that his elderly mother and brother are at home in Siatista.

6,036 deaths worldwide

In total, 6,036 people have died from the new coronavirus and 159,844 cases have been recorded worldwide.

China remains the country with the highest number of deaths (3,199), but Europe has a rapid spread of the virus, with 1,907 deaths, including 1,441 in Italy and 288 in Spain, the two most affected countries on the continent.
