Traffic ban: 1,113 offenses yesterday – Seven arrests for shoplifting

Audits of the Hellenic Police Service are continuing throughout the country to detect violations of the traffic ban and generally measures to prevent and limit the spread of coronavirus.

For unnecessary movements (1,113) violations were confirmed throughout the country and a number of administrative fines were imposed, as follows:

344 in Attica
92 in Crete
90 in the Ionian Islands
89 in Thessaloniki
85 in Western Greece
73 in the Peloponnese
70 in Epirus
63 in Central Macedonia
55 in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace
42 in Central Greece
40 in Thessaly
32 in the North Aegean
30 in the South Aegean and
8 in Western Macedonia
It is noted that since the measure was launched on Monday, March 23, 2020, 4,063 infringements have been established throughout the country and a number of administrative fines have been imposed.

For the operation of shops (health, commercial, etc.) despite the prohibition, 7 violations were confirmed and 7 people were arrested, as follows:

3 in the South Aegean
1 in Attica
2 in Central Macedonia and
1 in Crete.
It is noted that since the launch of the measure on Thursday 12 March 2020, 271 violations have been established throughout the country and 280 people have been arrested. Checks are being continued with an intense intensity to ensure public health.
