Earlier today a car carrying student’s from the EPAL in Argostoli was involved in a crash near the turning up towards the Saint Gerasimmos cave in Lassi.
The car reportedly travelling at high speed crashed into the fixed barriers between the road and pavement and caught on fire, three people were rescued and are in good health but sadly the fourth person a 17 year old student died of his injuries.
The Argostoli Traffic Police have started investigation into the causes of this tragic accident.
As a mark of respect the EPAL school in Lassi will remain closed tomorrow the 12 April.
The fire brigade have officially commented as follows;
A man was found dead in his car in Lassi, Kefalonia.
The Fire Brigade was notified of a fire in a private car and after the extinguishing they found themselves in front of the abominable find. They found a man dead inside the car.
8 firefighters with three vehicles tried to extinguish the fire in the car.
