New evidence comes to light about the tragedy in Oinousses, the wreck with five children and two women dead.

According to sources confirmed by Maritime Affairs, on board the ship sank were families of Turkish dissidents opposed to the Erdogan regime. The boat overturned off the Oinousses resulting in the tragic death of seven people. An infant and a four-year-old child were initially found dead . A short time later, divers found two women dead at the bottom and three more children.

Meanwhile, research vessels had recovered 12 people in the morning, five men, three women, three children under six and a 12-year-old.

According to Port Authority officials, mild weather conditions were present in the area and the cause of the boat wreck that had left 19 passengers aboard the Cesme coast to Chios is unknown.

The search and rescue operation continued with the participation of Coast Guard – Hellenic Coast Guard, offshore vessels, a sailing vessel and a European Frontier – Coast Guard (FRONTEX) aircraft, as well as a Super Puma helicopter helicopter. and the Rhodes Island passenger / ferry.
