Tsipra message to Turkey: Greece is strong

With his statement immediately after the extraordinary KYSEA, Alexis Tsipras spoke of powerless Turkey and “strong Greece”.

The situation created in the eastern Mediterranean after the provocative actions of Turkey examined KYSEA at an extraordinary meeting convened by Alexis Tsipras at Maximos, interrupting his tour of the Dodecanese.

In a statement, Alexis Tsipras made a statement out of Maximos by sending a message to Turkey.

“All Greek women and Greeks are – and must know and feel and feel – absolutely safe. Turkish provocation and violation of international law on the part of Turkey is not a sign of power but of weakness. Greece is a strong country and has managed to shape alliances and foundations in the international context, as powerful as ever before, “Mr. Tsipras said.

“Anyone who violates the sovereign rights of Greece, who violates the sovereign rights of the Republic of Cyprus, which is an EU Member State, who violates international law in the region, knows that it will have consequences” was Tsipra’s message.

According to government sources, the meeting assessed the situation and discussed the coordination of actions, following developments in the Eastern Mediterranean.

According to information, it was decided at the meeting to send a clear message to Ankara that respect for international law is the basis on which international relations exist.

As noted by government sources and while the KYSEA was completed at the Maximos Mansion, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras had a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nikos Anastasiades, on developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and Turkish provocation in order to coordinate for their next moves.

Following is the whole statement of Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras:

I summoned the Governmental Foreign Affairs and Defense Council a moment ago to look closely at developments in the southeastern Mediterranean with regard to Turkish provocation within the Exclusive Economic Zone of Cyprus.

The first thing I want to say is that all Greek women and all Greeks are – and must know and feel and feel – absolutely safe.
Turkish provocation and Turkey’s violation of International Law is not a sign of strength but weakness. Greece is a strong country and has lately managed to shape alliances and foundations in the international context as strong as ever before.

So, we had the opportunity to look at the latest developments together and I had the opportunity at the same time to meet with the Cypriot President Nikos Anastasiadis at the meeting of the KYSEA.

But let me tell you before we tell you what we have decided together to point out that this strong position of Greece and Cyprus in recent years, based on strong alliances and international foundations, has been confirmed by successive decisions of the Summit European Union which clearly condemn violations of international law and Turkish provocation. Above all, it has been confirmed by the upgrading of the prestige and strategic role of Greece and Cyprus, which has been made possible through multilateral partnerships, in particular tripartite and multilateral partnerships between Greece and Cyprus in the South East Mediterranean region. But, of course, from the great and bold historical step on our part, of resolving the chronic dispute with our North Neighbors,

That is why we can now say with certainty that the role of the country has been upgraded. Its alliances and foundations are more important than ever. That is why we can say with certainty that Greek women and Greeks are absolutely safe and must feel and, above all, not accept the scandal of the last few days.
