TUI’s strategic partnership with the Greek Ministry of Tourism, aiming at 50% of last year’s arrivals

The Minister of Tourism, Haris Theocharis, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the head of TUI, Mr. Sebastian Ebel, in Kos today.

The common goal, as it was emphasized, is for TUI to bring to our country this year 50% of the tourists, which was distributed in 2019, when through the TUI group came about 3 million visitors.

To achieve the goal:

-There will be a ministry and TUI advertisement. Greece will be the first country with which the company will cooperate.

– There will be joint actions to extend the tourist season

– The extension of the stay of the visitors in our country will be sought.

The partnership also provides for:

– Designing new cruise routes for this year and next.

“I will be disappointed if we do not reach the 50% target with Greece,” Ebel said.

I am wondering…is TUI going to cover some of the expenses associated with the care of potential tourist cases in this country ? Or it is on the Greek taxpayers again??…what does the minister of tourism have to say ?….before celebrating with the tourist operator TUI…..if nothing else we need to have common sense and respect of the citizen and tax payer of this nation ….the average citizen i mean…and not necessarily the hotel operator who by the way is minority when it comes to the general health protection of the Greek public ….
Not so fast , minister of tourism, to celebrate when only 2 days since the first of July and stats show that 20 to 25% of the new cases are related to tourists!!
Wondering what is going to happen 15 days into July ….perhaps lock down the Greek citizens and let the tourist walk around …and pay for their quarantine and treatment!!! Unreal !!!
